The Color Run
TweetThis weekend I participated in the Color Run. This isn’t any 5k race. Along the trail were four spots in which you were sprinkled with a saturated, brightly colored powder that left you looking like a Jackson Pollock painting. The wind was quite strong and you could see in the distance the vibrant colors floating across the trail, softly landing on the ground to create a blanket of magnificent color.
Because this is Austin, and Texas has crazy unpredictable weather, it had rained the night before and the ground had become a thick, slippery mud bath. I did witness a couple of people who’s shoes succumbed to the stubborn mud, running in their socks! Once we reached the finish line we were each handed a bag of color to throw at each other while rocking out to the music. This was such an awesome experience. I could imagine what it is like to celebrate the Festival of Colors. Whoever said a 5k couldn’t be artistic?
